Structural

About The Role

The Department Head Structural is required to own the competence and capability of the structural discipline team; the process of design and engineering, whilst providing full accountability for the smooth running and engineering delivery of discipline.
 
As the Department Head - Structural, you will: 
 

Business Development

  • Support company BD efforts both directly by maintaining  good structural client relations and as part of our multi discipline team
  • Provide discipline input to CTR preparation and M_D tender
  • Support company marketing efforts and maintaining company reputation

Management of Work

  • Contract focal point for our Structural Integrity contract
  • Maintain quality and competence standards
  • Allocate work and monitor progress
  • PEER review and approval of deliverables
  • Support recruitment and staff development

Commercial

  • Manage discipline project budgets via time writing system
  • Manage commercial change via our variation procedure
  • Report to management discipline commercial performance
  • Support finance department with discipline billing and client liaison

About You

 Qualifications
  • BSc in relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Chartered Engineering Status (Preferred) 
Competence Standards
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking/Approval
  • Understanding of all Engineering disciplines
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
  • Understand the application of Autodesk Design products
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications
  • Experience in managing and developing others
  • Excellent written and spoken English
