For this role we are seeking candidates who have a full understanding of the structural integrity management of offshore structures in the oil and gas sector & be able to utilise hand calculations & analyses software in support of our clients’ assets. Technical report writing & interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with project team members is a prerequisite to this role.

Key Duties:
  • Identify the scope of work required
  • Input to project plans and schedules. 
  • Identify areas of concern during any project or study.
  • Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
  • Undertake Surveys, both onshore and offshore
  • Supervise the time of others

About You

Experience / Competence
We are seeking candidates with Offshore Structural Engineering experience with a background in brownfield work & asset integrity management, full familiarity with API, AISC, DNV & ISO Codes. Experience with Inplace & spectral fatigue analysis using SESAM is highly desirable.
 
The ideal candidate is expected to have a full understanding of the structural integrity management of offshore structures in the oil and gas sector & be able to utilise hand calculations & analyses software in support of our clients’ assets. Technical report writing & interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with project team members is a prerequisite to this role.
  
Optimus would also consider: a candidate with substantial civil/structural engineering & design experience with a strong theoretical background. Extensive knowledge of FE analysis and experience with software such as ABAQUS as well as.  Familiarity with industry standard international design codes such as API, AISC, DNV, AISC & EURCODE would be an advantage.
 
Qualifications
  • BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred

  • Essential: SESAM GeniE, MS Office
  • Desirable: STAAD Pro, USFOS, ABAQUS & Mathcad
